Two materials, one standard

Real oak engineered in layers, or waterproof designer LVT that shrugs off kitchens, bathrooms and heavy traffic. Same Swedish design language, same patterns, same installation by our team. The right answer depends on your room, and we will tell you honestly which one it is.

Born in Nybro, built for generations

Kährs began in a small workshop deep in the forests of southern Sweden, where it still makes floors today. In 1941 it changed the industry for good by inventing the world's first engineered parquet: a floor built in layers, more stable than solid wood and kinder to the forests it comes from.

The same engineering culture now shapes its LVT floors, including Kährs Zero, a PVC-free line the industry is still catching up to.

What the engineering buys you

Layered wood construction

A real-oak surface bonded to a stabilising core. Flat and tight through seasons that make solid wood gap and cup, and made for underfloor heating.

Woodloc joint

Kährs' glueless locking system clicks boards together precisely and permanently. Faster installation, no glue, no gaps, walk on it the same day.

Waterproof LVT builds

Rigid-core and dry-back constructions with hard-wearing surface layers, quiet underfoot and indifferent to water.

Kährs Zero

A PVC-free family of resilient floors carrying the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. The look of LVT with a conscience the category has rarely had.

Surfaces that recover

Oiled and lacquered wood can be revived rather than replaced; LVT wear layers shrug off the life of a busy household.

Plank, herringbone, chevron

Every pattern comes in both materials, in the showroom and on order.

A floor that stores carbon

Kährs has treated sustainability as a manufacturing principle since long before it was a marketing word. A wood floor locks away the carbon its tree captured; a durable floor keeps it locked for decades.
