Sculptural pendant design that reads as a designer lamp

The Falmec hood Sophie 54 abandons every convention of what a kitchen extractor should look like. A 54 cm bell-shaped dome hangs from the ceiling on four fine steel cables, with a polished tempered glass disc lit from inside at its base. The whole assembly is closer to a Murano-style designer pendant than to a hood , which is the point. Sophie is made for kitchens where an architectural island deserves a sculptural object overhead, not a piece of equipment.

Circle.Tech filtration with Carbon.Zeo Microtech

Beneath the dome sits Falmec’s patented Circle.Tech system. Air is drawn in around the perimeter of the convex glass panel, passes through a metallic grease filter, and is then forced through a Carbon.Zeo Microtech regenerable filter that combines activated charcoal with natural zeolite. The Falmec hood Sophie 54 cleans the air twice as effectively as a conventional charcoal filter, and the Carbon.Zeo cartridge is regenerated by simply baking it in your oven every few months rather than being replaced.

Dynamic Light with dimmable LEDs

The convex glass panel doubles as a diffused light source. A Dynamic Light LED system tunes the colour temperature anywhere between 2700 K warm and 5600 K cool white, fully dimmable, so Sophie can switch from concentrated cooking light over the hob to a soft ambient pendant glow once the cooking is done. A perimeter ambient LED runs around the base of the dome for additional accent lighting at the lowest setting.

Ductless installation , no external ventilation required

The Falmec hood Sophie 54 is filtering-only, which makes it ideal for apartments, lofts, and renovations where running a duct to the outside would compromise the architecture or simply isn’t possible. Power is the only service required , a single electrical feed through one of the suspension points. The cable length is adjustable up to 340 cm with the optional KACL.143 cable kit, allowing the hood to be sized to any ceiling height, from a standard 2.5 m residential to a double-height loft.

Five finishes for any kitchen palette

Sophie is offered in five painted-steel finishes. Anthracite and White suit minimal or strongly contrasting island schemes. Pewter brings a soft industrial grey that pairs well with stone and concrete worktops. Worn Brass and Worn Copper are hand-aged metallic finishes , Falmec applies the patina deliberately so the hood arrives looking like it has been in the kitchen for years, in the spirit of the best contract restaurant interiors.
