Miele ovens and hobs in Lebanon: how to choose (2026 guide)

A Lebanese kitchen asks more of its cooking appliances than almost any other. A full tray of kibbeh for twelve, bread that is not dry, a pressure cooker on a Friday, and all of it on an electricity supply that cuts daily and a gas bottle in the corner. Most ovens and hobs here are chosen by the colour of the front. This guide is about the numbers that decide whether you still like your kitchen in year fifteen: cavity litres, amps, burner kilowatts, cleaning, and who repairs it. Wakim Group has sold and serviced Miele in Lebanon since 1981.

Miele ovens built into a kitchen

1. Electric or gas, induction or flame: the Lebanese question

Gas is common in Lebanon for one reason, the electricity, and the trade is real. A gas oven cannot hold a temperature to the degree, cannot clean itself, has no probe and no steam. A gas hob, on the other hand, cooks through a cut on the bottle you already have, and a Miele gas hob adds GasStop flame failure protection, electronic single-handed ignition and dishwasher-safe pot rests. The combination that works in a Beirut home is an electric Miele oven for everything the oven does better, and a Miele gas hob if the kitchen must cook through every cut, or a Miele induction hob if state hours and solar carry the cooking.

2. Power: the numbers before the colours

Every Miele oven we sell draws 3.3 to 3.7 kW while heating, 15 to 17 amps at 220 V, on its own circuit: state power, a solar inverter of 5 kVA or more, or a 15 to 20 amp generator line. A 5 or 10 amp subscription will not run an oven at full temperature, and no brand changes that. Induction hobs draw more: the KM 7361 FR four-zone hob has a connected load of 7.3 kW. A Miele induction hob connects either single phase on a 6 mm2 cable or three phase, and three phase is what we recommend: our installers check the board before delivery. Gas hobs need only a socket for ignition. So: oven on 15 amps or state hours, induction on state and solar, gas for the cut. Model by model figures for ovens, steam ovens and hobs are on our generator and solar page.

3. Ovens: 76 litres is the standard, 90 cm is the feast

A 60 cm Miele oven gives 76 litres and five shelf levels: a full universal tray and a second tray above it, a Sunday lunch in one bake. The 90 cm ovens give 90 litres over three levels, with a motorised rotisserie on the H 7890 BP, for a family that hosts twenty. A 45 cm compact oven, steam oven or combi microwave stacks with the main oven into a cooking column in one finish. Then the features that matter in a Lebanese kitchen: Moisture plus injects steam into a bake for bread and manakish with a real crust; AirFry on the H 2851 B and H 2861 BP does the countertop machine's job on a full tray; the food probe, wireless on the top models, stops the oven when the lamb is done; TasteControl cools the cavity the moment the time is up so the maamoul does not keep baking; FoodView on the H 7860 BPX and H 7890 BP puts a camera inside the oven and the picture on your phone. The door is CleanGlass with SoftOpen and SoftClose, quadruple glazed and touch-cool on the top models, which with children in the kitchen is the reason, not a feature.

4. Cleaning: pyrolytic or PerfectClean

Pyrolytic ovens (the BP and BPX models) heat the cavity until residue turns to ash you wipe away, with the door locked and the front cool; run that cycle on state or solar hours, it is the one time the oven draws its full load for a few hours. PerfectClean ovens (the B models) have a non-stick finish on cavity, trays and runners, so a sponge does the job after each use, with no cycle and no extra electricity. Our honest recommendation: pyrolytic for a home with state power or solar, PerfectClean for a home mostly on a generator.

5. Steam: the appliance Lebanese kitchens did not know they needed

A steam oven cooks rice, vegetables, fish and a whole menu at once, without fat or pots, and reheats yesterday's food so it tastes like today's. In Lebanon it has a practical edge: a removable water container, no plumbing, and automatic descaling, which with Beirut's hard water decides whether a steam oven lasts. The DG 7440 is steam only with sous-vide; the DGM 7440 adds a microwave and replaces the microwave in a modern kitchen; the DGC steam combination ovens are a full convection oven and a full steam oven in one cavity, and the HC Pro versions clean themselves with HydroClean. If the kitchen takes one 60 cm appliance only, a DGC 7460 or DGC 7860 does everything in this guide in one niche.

6. Hobs: PowerFlex, full surface, extraction, and the gas range

Miele induction starts at the KM 7361 FR, four Vario zones with a booster on each and number keys. The KM 8462 FL adds a PowerFlex area, two zones that join for a roaster, 4,200 W with a 7,360 W TwinBooster, frameless for a flush worktop. The KM 8585 FR and the shallow Panorama KM 8575 FL give six and four zones in three and two PowerFlex areas across 80 and 92 cm. The KM 8695 FR is full surface: 87 by 38 cm of free placement for up to six pans, the controls follow the pan, and a professional mode changes power as you move it, like a range top. For an island without a ceiling hood, the KMDA 7272-1 FR Silence extracts the steam downwards between the zones at up to 606 m3/h, 41 to 64 dB, with a dishwasher-safe steel grease filter. Every Miele induction hob has Stop and Go, keep warm, pan recognition, a system lock, and Con@ctivity, which switches the Miele hood with the hob. The gas range runs from the KM 2012 G, four burners with a 4 kW mono wok burner on a steel trough, to the KM 3054-1, five burners on black glass with a 4.7 kW dual wok burner and QuickStart electronic controls, all with GasStop and ComfortClean pot rests. SmartLine elements, an induction wok, a gas wok, a Tepan Yaki, a barbecue grill and a deep fat fryer, combine in any order for a cooking wall.

7. One company, one phone number

Miele is sold and serviced in Lebanon by one company, us. A Miele oven or hob is repaired in your kitchen by one of six Miele-trained technicians, 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the genuine part in stock in Beirut about 90 percent of the time and the rest by DHL from Miele in 3 to 4 days. A full repair closes in 1 to 2 days. The warranty is 2 years, extendable to 7, from the company that sold and installed the appliance.

10. Before you buy

Check the niche: 60 cm ovens need 560 to 568 mm wide and 590 to 595 mm high, compact and steam models 450 to 452 mm, the 90 cm oven 860 to 868 mm wide. Ask your electrician for a dedicated 16 or 20 amp circuit at the oven and, for induction, a single-phase line on 6 mm2 cable or, better, three phase; our installers verify both on delivery. Note your supply: state hours, solar kVA, generator amps, gas bottle or line. Decide the column and the finish. Then come and open a door in the showroom on George Haddad Street, Saifi, Beirut. Frequently asked questions

What is the best oven in Lebanon?

For an oven you will keep, a Miele 76 litre built-in oven: 15 to 17 amps while heating, pyrolytic or PerfectClean cleaning, Moisture plus for bread, serviced from Beirut with parts in stock, from $2,075.

Electric or gas oven in Lebanon?

Electric, with state power, solar or a 15 amp generator line for the hours you bake: it holds temperature to the degree, self-cleans, takes a probe and steam. Keep a gas hob or a gas burner for the cut.

How many amps does a Miele oven need?

3.3 to 3.7 kW while heating, 15 to 17 amps at 220 V, on its own circuit. State power, a solar inverter of 5 kVA or more, or a 15 to 20 amp generator line; not a 5 or 10 amp subscription.

Does an induction hob work in Lebanon with power cuts?

On state and solar hours, yes, and it is faster and safer than gas. A four-zone Miele induction hob has a 7.3 kW connected load and connects single phase on a 6 mm2 cable or, recommended, three phase. For a kitchen that must cook through every cut, choose a Miele gas hob.

Pyrolytic or PerfectClean?

Pyrolytic if you have state power or solar for a monthly full-power cleaning cycle. PerfectClean if you run mostly on a generator: a non-stick cavity and trays that wipe clean, no cycle.

Is a steam oven worth it in Lebanon?

Yes. Rice, vegetables, fish and reheating without fat or pots, from a removable water container with no plumbing, and automatic descaling for hard water. A steam combination oven replaces the main oven entirely.

Which hob for a kitchen island without a hood?

The Miele KMDA 7272-1 FR Silence induction hob with integrated extraction: up to 606 m3/h downwards between the zones, 41 to 64 dB, dishwasher-safe steel grease filter.

How much do Miele ovens and hobs cost in Lebanon?

Ovens from $2,075 to $8,010 in 60 cm and $8,423 to $15,914 in 90 cm; steam ovens from $3,837; induction hobs from $1,677 to $5,497; gas hobs from $1,671 to $3,568. Delivered and installed anywhere in Lebanon.
